Grade 9 and 10 IB Programme

The Grade 9 and 10 Pre-IB courses are designed to prepare and evaluate students for entry into the International Baccalaureate Programme. These courses cover The Ontario Curriculum in addition to providing enrichment in content and skill development. The pace of learning and homework load is higher than the corresponding course at the regular academic level. Successful students will demonstrate maturity, responsibility, and sound work habits.

These courses, which are enriched and accelerated, will prepare students for the challenges of the Diploma Programme. The central components will help students develop skills such as:

• time management
• organization
• study skills
• a sense of community responsibility
• compassion for and tolerance of other cultures and beliefs

Below is the octagon for the Middle Years Programme which the PRE-IB programme is based on. It demonstrates how the subjects are connected by the key concepts in the core of the programme.
